A truly enchanting antique 18ct yellow gold ruby and diamond ring, fully hallmarked and dating to approximately 1895 — a piece of genuine Victorian jewellery history. The broad, domed gypsy-style band features a charming central flower cluster of six round rubies surrounding a single old cut diamond at its heart, with a further old cut diamond gypsy-set into each shoulder of the band within star-cut recesses. The rich, deep pink-red of the rubies against the brilliance of the diamonds creates a wonderfully warm and colourful display full of Victorian character.

The shoulders of the band are beautifully decorated with hand-engraved scrollwork and foliate detailing across the domed gold surface — the kind of meticulous hand craftsmanship that simply cannot be replicated today and which gives this ring extraordinary charm and depth.
